Choose Faith or Fear
Do you want to get well?
- John 5:6
At the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus met a man afflicted for 38 years with a sickness. A condition this lasting becomes part of a person’s identity and he thinks, “I will always be a cripple.” So Jesus asked the man a fascinating question: “Do you want to get well?”
“Sir,” the man replied, “I have no man to put me into the pool.” Do you see what the man said? He didn’t answer Jesus’ question! Jesus asked, “Do you want to get well?” There was something in the man’s attitude holding him back from even thinking about receiving healing.
What makes you say, “I can’t,” “I won’t,” “It will never happen,” or “I’m afraid”? Whatever the fear is—whatever the depression you’ve found comfort in—whatever keeps you from fulfilling God’s purpose for your life—remember that those excuses are not of God. They nullify faith.
Fear is false evidence that masquerades as truth. Fear is the counterfeit of faith. They are mutually exclusive and cancel one another out.
I want you to agree with me that you will not lift your fear up before God, and instead, you will lift Him up in praise and worship! You will say, “Yes, I want to get well!”
God, in every situation and circumstance, let me see your truth. Don't let me believe the enemy's lies, don't let me fear or doubt you ever.
In Jesus' name, Amen!
