The Day of Atonement was the one and only day of the year the High Priest was permitted – commanded – to enter God’s personal presence in the temple’s Holy of Holies. There, on the Ark of the Covenant, in the holiest place on earth, he sprinkled the sacrificial blood of a spotless lamb as an offering to honor God on His holiest day of the year.
Atonement — the highest holy day in the season of Tabernacles — is a commanded feast we are instructed to celebrate as “a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.” And in obedience to God’s instruction in Leviticus 16 & 23, we must bring an offering!
Whatever the Lord leads you to make as an Atonement Offering,
