HOW TO REPORT A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT
THAT IS IMPERSONATING PASTOR ROD PARSLEY
We are working with Facebook to eliminate fraudulent and impersonating false accounts that claim to represent Pastor Rod Parsley, but do not. However, we wanted to provide you – our partners and friends – with the tools necessary to notify Facebook of any accounts that claim to represent Pastor Parsley, but do not originate from Pastor Parsley's official timeline at
www.facebook.com/rodparsley.
Below, you will find instructions on how to report a Facebook account that is impersonating Pastor Rod Parsley.
1. Confirm that the account is not Pastor Parsley.
Pastor Parsley's Facebook page is available only at the following website address:
www.facebook.com/rodparsley.
This is Pastor Parsley's real page:
Notice how below, the website address is www.facebook.com/rodparsley.
Also notice how you can only "Like" this page, and there are over 150,000 others who like it as well.
This is a fake page – someone who is impersonating Pastor Parsley:
Notice how below, the website address is NOT www.facebook.com/rodparsley, but has numbers and dashes.
Also notice how this page wants you to friend them.
2. Click the ‘Cog' drop down menu in the bottom-right hand corner of the fake page's Timeline Cover Photo.
3. Click the "Report/Block" option from the menu.
4. Choose the "Submit a Report" option, and select "Report Rod's account" under that. Then click Confirm to continue.
5. On the "Report and/or Block This Person" screen:
a) Choose the option that says "This timeline is pretending to be me or someone I know"
b) Under that, choose the option that says "Pretending to be a celebrity"
c) Under that option, in the text box, type "Rod Parsley"
d) Select "Rod Parsley" from the list that appears as you type
e) Click the "Continue" button to proceed
6. On the "What You Can Do" screen:
a) Check the box that reads "Block Rod Parsley"
b) Check the box that reads "Submit a Report"
c) Click the "Continue" button to proceed
7. Confirm your report.
Depending on how many accounts you report, you may receive a message from Facebook explaining that they take report submissions seriously, and asking you to review their terms for reporting accounts. Be assured that if you have made sure you are not reporting www.facebook.com/rodparsley - but another account impersonating Pastor Parsley, your report actions are well within their terms. Click "Confirm."
